I have a 2002 Jaguar S Type, 3.0 and I'm experiencing shifting problems in my transmission. The problem occurs when I'm at a complete stop. As I accellerate, there is a second when the engine rev up and the gears engage. Also, when I'm on a slight hill, the same exact problem occurs.

DTC P1380, P1381 OR P1383: VARIABLE VALVE TIMING SOLENOID (RIGHT BANK) Turn ignition off. Disconnect right Variable Valve Timing (VVT) solenoid harness connector. Measure resistance between VVT solenoid terminals. If resistance is 5-20 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 5-20 ohms, replace VVT solenoid and retest system. Turn ignition on.
here`s my solution to the no reverse problem,if your able to get the use of a ramp your problem will be gone in one hour,remove n/s/f wheel and the plug you thought was the level / filler now this might sound a bit unethical but it works ,i`ve just fixed my own x type auto,after making the same mistake,drill a small hole in the casing just 2002; 2001; 2000; Print report.
